1 out of 5 stars Critical Review   July 3, 2008

This product is not capable of capturing video from game systems without having a sound and video lag. This product WOULD be better if it was produced with FireWire cables instead of USB. It was easy to return this product thanks to Amazon. BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK

3 out of 5 stars Unpolished software   May 21, 2008

Once I got the Leopard updated drivers installed (took a long time with tech support to figure out) it works as advertised.

There are absolutely no options in the software as others have mentioned. It won't even let you change where the files get stored - kind of tacky for a $100 product..

5 out of 5 stars Video Capture for Mac   April 5, 2008

This product is great. After trying several freeware products to convert old analog home videos to digital ( necessary to use them in imovie), I was about to give up. This product is reasonably priced, simple to use ( plug and play) and does the job without a hitch. Well worth the $99.

1 out of 5 stars Unfortunately, Disappointed   March 18, 2008
Joey V (Rochester, NY)
After reading both positive and negative reviews for the Pinnacle Video Capture for Mac, I decided to take a gamble for $100 and give it a try. I wanted to feed analog camcorder video into my Mac PowerBook that exceded the recommended specs from the manufacturer.

Though the software was pretty easy to install, and the connections are pretty idiot-proof, the quality of the digitized video was VERY DISAPPOINTING.

The digitized video had a LOT of freezes and skips!! I experimented with the few settings there are. I contacted tech support and confirmed my Mac OS, QuickTime, CPU specs, etc. were OK.

The best part about the transaction was that Amazon's return policy was fairly easy & quick.

Bottom line: I will invest in a DIGITAL camcorder to capture digital video.
